Dance Admissions
Overview
All prospective BFA in Dance Majors must audition during the year prior to their first semester to be placed into the Dance Program. The dance faculty places great value on each student鈥檚 individual potential in dance as well as in academic success. Acceptance as a USF BFA in Dance Major is contingent upon both the acceptance by the University of South Florida and by the Dance Department through the audition process.
To declare the BFA in Dance, the student must place into at least the level I in both ballet and contemporary dance.
Beginning in Fall 2025, there is no required audition to declare the BA in Dance or Dance Minor*.
Admission into the BFA in Dance Performance program
Dance majors pursuing the BFA in Dance Performance must participate in a secondary admissions procedure. Formal acceptance into the BFA program will be based on technical ability, performance qualities and academic standards.
