This list features longer term academic and professional development groups students can join, typically for multiple semesters or years.
USF Groups
Global and National Security Institute (GNSI) Future Strategist Program
The Future Strategist Program is open to all USF students interested in a career in
global and national security and offers engagement with security practitioners, publishing
opportunities, participation in conferences and events, mentorship, and more.
Kosove Society Scholars are competitively selected based on academic excellence, leadership,
and a commitment to community service. The contribute to the betterment of the USF
community and Tampa Bay area. Through Kosove funding, students are able to participate
in academic conferences, education abroad experiences, and other opportunities on
national and international levels.
Wilcox Scholars
The Wilcox Scholars Program (WSP) is for Judy Genshaft Honors College students of
any major who are interested in public policy, civic engagement, leadership, and community
service. Scholars are admitted to the program at the conclusion of their first year
at USF and are expected to continue to be active cohort members during their second,
third, and fourth years at USF.
National Groups
The Millennium Fellowship is a semester-long leadership development program designed
to take your social impact to the next level through access to world-class training
and connections.
Honors Societies
These societies are by invitation only based on established criterion.
The oldest academic honor society in the country, Phi Beta Kappa's primary goal is
to champion education in the liberal arts and sciences, foster freedom of thought,
and recognize academic excellence.
Sigma Xi
Sigma Xi is an international, multidisciplinary community of science, technology,
engineering, and mathematical (STEM) professionals dedicated to research excellence,
promoting public engagement with science, and fostering the next generation of researchers.
