Internships
The Office of National Scholarship assists students who are actively pursing a national scholarship opportunity in exploring and applying for internship opportunities that will help them grow academically and professionally.
Interdisciplinary
Generally unpaid internships that offer positions in a variety of fields including
chemistry, community outreach, GIS, legal, software development, and more.
ArtS
Smithsonian Institution offers internships across its 21 museums, research centers,
offices, and zoo.
Humanities
Mellon Humanities Internships
The Mellon Humanities Internship Program provides undergraduate students majoring
or minoring in the humanities with meaningful work experience through paid internships
and career development workshops.
Health
FPHLP is a residential summer program funded by the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention. Through field placements, skill building workshops, and mentorship, Michigan
FPHLP provides students with opportunities for growth, learning and awareness in the
field of public health.
Public Service and International Affairs
The internship program at the American Foreign Policy Council offers aspiring foreign
policy leaders the opportunity to work on substantial research projects and assist
with publishing articles or organizing events with foreign dignitaries. Interns also
have the chance to work closely with experienced foreign policy professionals.
Carter Center internships are paid and available through a number of programs and
offices within three broad focus areas - peace, health, and operations.
The U.S. Department of State Student Internship Program is an unpaid internship with
the opportunity to work in U.S. embassies and consulates throughout the world, as
well as in various bureaus located in Washington, D.C. and at Department offices around
the United States.
FIRE offers a 10-week, paid summer internship as part of their effort to educate students
about their rights at colleges and universities. This free speech internship gives
undergraduates the opportunity to assist in defending civil liberties on campuses
across the country.
TFAS hosts Washington, D.C.-based academic internship programs for undergraduate students
each summer. Students leave Washington with 250+ hours of professional experience,
an expanded network of contacts, and a greater understanding of their career opportunities.
USF Public Policy Internship Programs
The Legislative Internship Program (LIP), Tallahassee Internship Program (TIP), Washington
Center, and USF in DC Internship Program provide students the chance to work with
government officials in various capacities.
STEM
The EPA hires high school and college interns for administrative and clerical roles,
as well as technical positions in fields such as life sciences, program or policy
analysis, and engineering.
As an intern, you will help meet the needs of current and future water users, protect
and preserve water resources, manage the water supply, protect water quality, and
more.
