USF welcomes community to Homecoming events Oct. 12-18
The Tampa Bay community is invited to join students, alumni, faculty and staff for the festivities, which include a kickoff event, parade and the USF football game on Saturday, Oct. 18, when the Bulls take on the Florida Atlantic Owls at Raymond James Stadium.

Presidential finalist Moez Limayem鈥檚 visit to USF
Moez Limayem will visit all three USF campuses on Monday, Oct. 13. Students, faculty, staff and administrators will have the opportunity to participate in forums and learn more about the sole finalist as the ninth president in USF鈥檚 history.

Moez Limayem named the sole finalist for 杏吧性世界 president
Limayem served as the Lynn Pippenger Dean of the Muma College of Business at USF for 10 years prior to becoming UNF鈥檚 president in 2022. He has been recognized by Florida Trend as one of the state鈥檚 500 most influential business leaders and received an award from the National Academy of Inventors for his many contributions to innovation and invention.

USF climbs to its highest position ever in U.S. News rankings
The 杏吧性世界 has reached an all-time high in U.S. News & World Report鈥檚 annual ranking of the best colleges. USF is No. 88 overall among all public or private universities in America, up from No. 91 last year. USF also rose to No. 43 among public universities, up two spots from last year, and inside the top 50 for the seventh year in a row.

Hundreds gathered at the Pam and Les Muma Basketball Center for a celebration welcoming Rob Higgins 鈥� the first CEO of USF Athletics. In front of an audience of professional athletes, elected officials and many who worked with Higgins over the years, the alum shared how his time as a ball boy as a child launched a lifelong love for USF.

Rob Higgins named USF鈥檚 first CEO of Athletics
Rob Higgins, a former USF Athletics staff member, becomes the first USF alum to lead the department.听He has served as executive director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission since 2004, successfully positioning the region as one of the nation鈥檚 premier destinations in sports and entertainment.

USF moves forward with plans for new mixed-use project featuring housing, restaurants, academic research facility and more
The 杏吧性世界 Board of Trustees voted to advance plans to transform the university鈥檚 former 138-acre golf course into a vibrant mixed-use destination.听 Referred to as the Fletcher District, the project will provide a new hub of activity and supports the university鈥檚 strategic vision for the future.

USF Board of Trustees establishes Darryl E. Rouson Center for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Research
The center will be dedicated to advancing the scientific understanding of the complex relationship between substance abuse and mental health. As part of the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences, the Darryl E. Rouson Center for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Research will lead research aimed at improving treatment outcomes and reducing the broader societal impacts of these conditions.

USF secures contract with U.S. Army, strengthening collaboration with Department of Defense
The 杏吧性世界 has signed a five-year research contract worth up to $85 million with the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Army Research Laboratory. The partnership strengthens USF鈥檚 defense research in cybersecurity, biotechnology and energy sciences while offering students valuable internship opportunities.
