The has been selected as a recipient of the Connecting Kids to Coverage (CKC) Outreach and Enrollment Cooperative Agreement Program.
USF joins a group of 25 grantees awarded a total of $66 million to enhance child health coverage over the next five years. USF鈥檚 CKC grant, totaling $3 million, will support comprehensive outreach efforts across Florida.
The CKC initiative is funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and aims to educate and assist children and families in enrollment in Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), known as Florida KidCare. USF efforts will focus on educating families about the availability of low-cost health coverage options, identifying eligible children and assisting families with the application and renewal processes.
鈥淔or almost 20 years, USF鈥檚 (FL-CKF), has worked to ensure Florida鈥檚 eligible, uninsured children are enrolled in Medicaid and the Florida KidCare Program,鈥 said , program director for USF鈥檚 Connecting Kids to Coverage. 鈥淯SF's involvement underscores its commitment to community health and welfare, positioning itself as a pivotal player in ensuring every child's access to essential health care services.鈥

USF plans to leverage this grant to implement innovative strategies tailored to the needs of local families and communities throughout the state, while focusing on maximizing enrollment and retention in Medicaid and CHIP programs.
