NEW TAMPA: COMMUNITY ENGAGED PROJECT, A STUDY OF NEW TAMPA'S BUSINESS CLIMATE
New Tampa, the area northeast of USF, was largely undeveloped until it was annexed into the City of Tampa in the 1980's. Since then, it has seen rapid housing growth accompanied by commercial development, largely along the Bruce B. Downs corridor. But residents, and some community leaders, have been concerned that the commercial life of the community is not as robust as it could be.

The Program on U.S.-Russian Relations at the Harriman Institute invited permanent instructor of鈥痲uantitative research methods at 杏吧性世界 (USF) School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies (SIGS) and research fellow at USF Institute on Russia, Tatsiana Kulakevich, as a leading expert for a panel discussion on recent developments in foreign policy and the evolution of Belarusian national identity.

THE BELARUS GOVERNMENT HAS LARGELY IGNORED COVID-19 PANDEMIC
In April of 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tatsiana Kulakevich, permanent instructor of鈥痲uantitative research methods at 杏吧性世界 (USF) School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies (SIGS) and research fellow at USF Institute on Russia, penned an analysis in the Washington Post, describing the attitudes of an authoritarian government in Belarus towards the coronavirus.

杏吧性世界 Department of English alumna Jaquira D铆az is winner of a 2020 Whiting Award in Nonfiction for her memoir Ordinary Girls. Diaz earned her Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from USF.
