USF doctoral student, Army veteran named 2025 Tillman Scholar

U.S. Army veteran Nathaniel Hays, a ÐÓ°ÉÐÔÊÀ½ç doctoral student in cellular and molecular biology, has been named a 2025 Tillman Scholar by the Pat Tillman Foundation. Selected from more than 1,700 applicants, Hays is pursuing cancer research inspired by a family history of the disease.

From Trade Languages to Snake Venom: Four USF Students Selected for 2025 Fulbright Research Grants

How a USF student’s personal battle with dengue helped develop mosquito-fighting AI

Since arriving at USF in 2021, Farhat Azam has been part of a faculty-led team developing an artificial intelligence-enabled smart mosquito trap. The technology identifies disease-carrying mosquitoes, such as those spreading malaria, West Nile virus, Zika virus, yellow fever and dengue.
